Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds, although it can be taken by students of other ages. More than 8 lakh students take this examinations from around 5000 schools in 160 countries every year.
At BGSIAS students have a flexibility to choose 7 subjects from English Language, Literature, French, Hindi, Global Perspectives, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Business Studies, Economics, Computer Science, Information and Communication Technology, Physical Education, History and Geography.
Assessment takes place at the end of grade 10 and includes written, oral, coursework and practical examination. This broadens opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning. With a tiered structure in many subjects for different ability levels, students of all abilities are assessed positively.
The grades awarded are A*, A, B, C, D, E, F and G with A* being the highest. Cambridge IGCSE provides excellent preparation for Cambridge A Level and for progression to other educational systems.
